I was born, bred and buttered in Bulawayo. I have always been an avid writer and my creativity began to show at the age of 10 when I would cut out pictures from magazines and write stories around them. I did my entire secondary schooling at Girls College from 1991 to 1996. It is here that my writing was further cultivated and nurtured. Incidentally I wrote a lot of poetry and won many accolades for the poetry. However paradoxically, it is prose writing that has captured my heart. Mr John Eppel and later, Mrs Eddington were my English teachers in high school. So it was such an honour to attend the African Book Festival in Berlin with John Eppel as a fellow writer and no longer as his student!

On completing my A Levels it was my intention to study Journalism but at that time there was no such degree on offer in any Zimbabwean institution of higher learning. So ironically I found myself reading towards a degree in Finance and later completed a Masters Degree in Finance at the National University of Science and Technology. My career in finance does not cultivate creativeness as I spend a lot of time doing analytical work and the writing is technical. However, I have never allowed it to stifle my creative side. My debut novel, the Polygamist was self-published in 2012. The Gold Diggers, my second offering, was published by Pan Macmillan in 2018.

Up until May last year I was working for a stockbroking firm as a Research Analyst. Now I am just trying to devote myself to writing as a full time occupation. I am currently working on my 3rd book, with a working title “The Gold Rush.”
